A communicational e-learning tool
"Used by educators all over the world, Voxopop talkgroups are a fun, engaging and easy-to-use way to help students develop their speaking skills. They're a bit like message boards, but use voice rather than text and a have a specialised user interface. No longer confined to a physical classroom, teachers and students of oral skills can interact from home, or even from opposite sides of the planet!"
How to use Voxopop in school
As the introductory paragraph already introduces, Voxopop contributes to language and cultural learning based only on communication. Basically it functions like any other blog for which you decide to give thoughts to. You can start your own discussion and wait until someone has posted something. The difference between any other blog is that you do not write your ideas but record them.
Imagine a virtual classroom without attendance nor real-time interaction. Practically an asynchronous teaching lesson. To be honest, I do not like to imagine such scenario but it can still be a great benefit for your class. I used Voxopop once for a homework assignment. I started a talkgroup and the students in my class had to contribute to the discussion. They had to listen to what other classmates have said already and respond to their ideas.
Voxopop can also be used to introduce a topic. Just open a discussion on a topic you want to introduce next week and let the students say something about it.
For example:
